SAKA IN ARSENAL TRAINING FOR VILLA

By Marc

Bukayo Saka has provided North London giants Arsenal with a big boost on the injury front after a returned to training in time for the visit of Aston Villa in the Premier League. The Gunners take on Villa at home on Friday night and England international Saka was a big doubt for the game after he picked up a calf injury in the last league game at home to Crystal Palace in the London Derby.

England attacker Saka had to leave the Palace game on Monday at the half-time break due to the injury he sustained via a wild kick from Palace midfielder James McArthur towards the end of the first half of the Premier League encounter at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night. Saka returned to Arsenal training on Thursday and he’s in contention for the Villa game.

The latest update on England international Saka would be music to the ears of Arsenal fans as they hope for a first win in three games as far as Premier League football is concerned. After a run of three straight wins in the Premier League, the Gunners are winless from their last two games in the top flight. As a matter of fact, they have drawn the last two games.

Arsenal saw their three-match Premier League winning run stopped by Brighton and Hove Albion as the two teams battled to a goalless draw. The Brighton draw was followed by the visit of club legend Patrick Vieira and his Crystal Palace side. At the end of regulation time, Vieira and Palace were denied an impressive victory by the late goal from Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette deep into injury time. The Gunners had earlier taken an eighth minute lead through skipper Pierre-EmerickAubameyang for his third goal in the Premier League this term. The Eagles fought back in the second half through Christian Benteke and French attacker Odsonne Edouard. Arsenal trailed for the majority of the last quarter before Lacazette came up with the goods five minutes into added time of second half.
