England head coach Gareth Southgate has insisted that Jack Wilshere is unlikely to get a reckoning in his squad unless he earns regular Premier League action with Arsenal. The 25-year-old has earned 13 minutes of top-flight football this term with manager Arsene Wenger preferring to utilise him in the League Cup and Europa League outings.
Wilshere has always been regarded as one of England’s finest midfielders, but his constant injury concerns have hampered his chances of earning a regular call-up. The playmaker last featured for the Three Lions during the European championships in France in 2016, and Southgate has now suggested that he will have to gain more game time to the Premier League to knock on the national team door.

Tottenham forward Harry Kane recently made his debut for the England senior team and marked it with a goal. He has been regarded as the next big thing to lead the England line-up.
However,Kane took the strange decision of joining up with the England under 21 team even after making his senior debut. Apart from potentially causing a burnout in the summer,Kane is also risky his place in the senior team. It could be taken up by strikers like Berahino and Charlie Austin, who have had excellent campaigns themselves. Kane was close in the running for the PFA player of the year award after having scored 30 goals in all competitions.
Kane’s goal tally is mightily impressive considering that he had not been a first-team regular at Tottenham until midway through the first half of the campaign. The day will eventually arrive when Arsene Wenger will have to walk away from Arsenal, whether that is due to retirement, in the quest of a new challenge or down to being pushed out of the club.
It is difficult at the moment to put a date on when Wenger and Arsenal will part company.
