DOUBLE ARSENAL INJURY BLOW

By Engerlund

Arsenal and England have already suffered a huge blow in their squads as Theo Walcott will not be able to play for the remainder of the season for the Premier League club and he will also not be available to represent England for the upcoming 2014 World Cup but both teams have received another blow and that is Jack Wilshere as the 22 years old midfielder sustained a leg injury that is expected to leave him out of action for 6 weeks.

The head coach of England, Roy Hodgson admitted that he was disappointed when he heard the news about the injury of Jack Wilshere but the tactician is hoping that he can make a full recovery as fast as possible.

“It’s always sad when you have a player come from his club, you use him in international duty and then he gets an injury. It’s very sad. I’m disappointed for Jack in particular and I’m disappointed for Arsenal. Unfortunately these things happen in a game of football. It was an honest challenge but he took a nasty kick and I can only hope he recovers as quickly as possible.” Hodgson revealed.

If the recovery of Jack Wilshere takes as long as expected, he will not be able to play again until the last few matches of Arsenal in this season but Arsene Wenger is confident that Wilshere will be able to make it back in time and play for England. On the back of the news, Englan’ds betvictor football odds on winning slid out to 20/1 from 15/1.

“He can have a great World Cup if all works well. We have 11 weeks until the end of the season and then you have still three weeks before the start of the World Cup. So it’s 14 weeks. That should be perfect. To go to a World Cup for a player is immense, and I will do absolutely everything so that he can get there.” Wenger said.

A few days ago, Roy Hodgson stated that he will only be bringing to Brazil the players that are 100% fit and even if Jack Wilshere does complete his recovery in time, it seems highly doubtful that Hodgson will be considering to take into the World Cup a player that only recently made his way back from injury.
