Burnley manager heaps praise on Tottenham Hotspur star

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane ahead of the weekend’s Premier League meeting between the sides. Burnley have been one of the league’s most improved teams since the turn of the year but they face a tough challenge against Spurs after managing just one point from the previous five encounters.

Speaking ahead of the game, Dyche talked about the form of the north London giants, who have managed four successive victories despite the injury absence of Kane. He added that the Englishman does not have any weaknesses in his game and highlighted the marksman’s movement and decision-making during the press conference, he said: “He’s a top striker, although they have fared pretty well without him. He is one of the best around when fit. He does more or less everything. He is quick with his brain, he’s quick in is movement and he sees things really quickly.”

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have dropped out of the League Cup and FA Cup in the absence of the England international but they have nonetheless maintained the title pursuit with just five points separating them from leaders Manchester City. Moreover, they have also made progress in the Champions League with a convincing 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund during the opening leg of the round of 16 and are favourites to reach the quarter final.

Elsewhere, Kane has been made available for the weekend’s league game at Turf Moor but Pochettino may not necessarily start him from the off. The striker has made a quick comeback than expected from the ankle injury but he may have to settle for a few games from the bench before being reintegrated into the starting lineup.

Kane is currently the club’s top scorer with 20 goals during the ongoing campaign but some of the burden has been relieved by Heung-min Son. The South Korea international has netted 16 times during the current season.
